Editorial ethics and policy

Editorial policy of “Lomonosov Pedagogical Education Journal" is based on the standards of ethical behaviour and concerns all participants in the editorial and publishing process: the editorial board, authors, reviewers and the publisher creating this journal.

  1. “Lomonosov Pedagogical Education Journal” follows best practices on ethical issues in accordance with international publishing standards and is guided by the principles set forth by the COPE Committee on Publication Ethics, the Principles of Transparency & Best Practices in Scientific Publishing. Practice for Scholarly Publication), adopted by the Declaration of “Ethical Principles of Scientific Publications” by the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers and the Ethical Code of Psychologist of the Russian Psychological Society (RPS), and also interacts with the RPS Commission on Scientific Publications in order to comply with all modern ethical recommendations in the published works.

  2. Publications in the journal occur free of charge based on the following results: checking for borrowings, double-blind reviewing, concluding a copyright license agreement with all authors of each published article. Free publication of all materials - with a Creative Commons license: Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). Attribution Non-Commercial Type CC-BY-NC 4.0. (“with attribution-non-commercial”). The provisions of the copyright license agreement stipulate the conditions for the use of the manuscript by the author and publisher before and after publication. Materials whose content is prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation and violate the principles of the Code of Ethics of the Russian Psychological Society are not allowed for publication.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

  • The editorial board, headed by the Editor-in-Chief, evaluates incoming manuscripts and also makes decisions on the possibility of their publication, taking into account the opinions of reviewers. Publication decisions are made based on the integrity of the work.

  • In evaluating submitted manuscripts, the editorial board considers their scientific merit and intellectual content, as well as relevance and significance, and does not take into account the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious preference, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views of the authors.

  • The editorial board of the journal should not disclose information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than the Editor-in-Chief, responsible author, reviewer, and publisher.

  • “Lomonosov Pedagogical Education Journal”, represented by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board, undertakes not to use unpublished information in any of their own work without the written permission of the author.

  • Confidential information or ideas obtained in the process of working with the manuscript must be kept secret by the editors, editorial board, reviewers and not used for personal gain.

  • The editor-in-chief, who receives convincing evidence that the statements or conclusions presented in a publication are erroneous, should report this to members of the editorial board with a view to making changes, withdrawing the publication, issuing a statement, expressing concern, or taking other action appropriate to the situation.
  • The decisions taken by the editorial board can be reconsidered in accordance with the changes in the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • The reviewer evaluates employment and qualifications before agreeing to examine the manuscript, and if he is not an expert in the topic proposed to him or does not have the opportunity to complete the work within the specified time frame, he must notify the editorial board about this in order to exclude himself from the review process.
  • The reviewer treats the manuscript as a confidential document and does not disclose information about the article and the data it contains to third parties.

  • Reviews of articles must be objective.

  • Unpublished materials described in the submitted manuscript should not be used in the Reviewer’s own research without the written consent of the Author. Priority information or ideas obtained through review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not review manuscripts with which they have a conflict of interest as a result of competitive, collaborative, or other affiliations with any of the authors, companies, or organizations associated with the article.

  • The reviewer must also bring to the attention of the Editorial Board any significant similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work within the scope of scientific competence.

  • The reviewer should point to significant published work that is relevant to the topic and not included in the bibliography of the manuscript. Any references to previously published observations, conclusions or arguments should be accompanied by an appropriate bibliographic reference.

Responsibilities of the authors

  • When submitting a manuscript to a journal, authors are responsible for the information provided, which must be objective and correct. Research data must be presented as accurately as possible in accordance with the requirements for the preparation of scientific articles in the journal. The article should be sufficiently detailed and have bibliographic references. False or patently erroneous statements are unacceptable and are considered unethical behaviour.

  • Authors are individuals who have made significant contributions to the conduct of the study, the conception, design, execution and interpretation of the research presented. All who made significant contributions to the work should be designated as co-authors. It is also important to ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the work and agree with its submission for publication. Other individuals who have contributed in some way to the research project may be listed as participants and special thanks may be given to them.

  • Authors must ensure that they are presenting original work and that all references to works or citations of other authors are formatted appropriately. Incorrect borrowing is considered to be both the presentation of someone else's work under the guise of one's own, and the paraphrasing of parts of other people's works (without attribution), which is absolutely unacceptable and is considered an act of unethical behaviour.

  • By submitting a manuscript to the journal, the author confirms with a written statement his consent to carry out a procedure for checking the originality of the text using the Anti-Plagiarism system. If the author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in the publication, he must inform the editorial board of the journal about this in order to quickly withdraw the publication or correct the errors as soon as possible.

  • The author correctly cites his previous works and avoids self-citation in the manuscript and artificially increasing the volume of publications. The author takes the necessary measures to ensure that the citations presented in the article are correct.

  • The author does not submit one article for consideration to different journals. It is considered categorically unacceptable if an author publishes his or her research in more than one journal, even if it is presented in different languages.

  • Articles are posted in Open Access with the consent of the authors, confirmed by the signature of the Author's License Agreement. Copyright belongs to the authors. The Editorial Board, headed by the Editor-in-Chief, reserves the right to ask the authors for initial data for review and re-consideration. Authors should be prepared to retain these data for a sufficient period of time after publication.

  • If the work involves animals or humans as research subjects, authors must ensure that all stages of the study comply with the laws and regulations of research organizations, and are also approved by the appropriate research ethics committee/commission.

  • The author correctly corresponds with the reviewer through the editor and responds to comments and remarks if they arise. All authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or other conflict of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the implementation of the project must be indicated.
  • The journal publishes materials of authors from different countries and regions. Authors are responsible for compliance with the laws of the countries and regions they represent. The editors of the journal act in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Publisher's Responsibilities

  • The publisher promotes the development of publishing norms and rules and introduces the best standards of publishing and scientific ethics.

  • The publisher not only supports and invests in scientific communication, but is also responsible for ensuring that the published work adheres to all current guidelines.

  • The publisher does not influence the editorial policy of the journal.

  • The publisher provides legal support to the journal editors if necessary.

  • The publisher ensures the timely release of regular issues of the journal.

  • The publisher publishes corrections, clarifications and retracts articles in which violations of scientific ethics or critical errors have been identified.
